Turboweb was formed in 1999 due to the need to have and provide broadband in rural western Isle of Wight where ADSL was many years away. With engineering qualifications and experience with networks and computers the first commercial wireless broadband service in the UK was ready and launched on the date the government regulations changed to allow this. The network was part funded by SEEDA and the local Isle of Wight Partnership who deal with funding locally and were keen to level the economic playing field for homes and businesess in rural areas. The network is made up of 5 main long-range AP's linked with point to point links to provide a large coverage area. These AP's include a 15 meter mast and several 20 ft masts with sector antennas and omni's designed to make best use of allowed power with desired coverage areas. The system has been very popular in the area and users enjoy very good service and support with engineer installed service right through to PC configuration, speedy home tech support visits usually within 24hrs, even to help with problems unrelated to internet connection. The local aspect of the service is one advantage to the end users that national companies just can't offer.

	Verri-Comm was formed 4 years after Turboweb's wireless service became available. We formed Verri-Comm because we had built up so much knowledge from providing commercial business and residential network services. We then saw the need for that knowledge to be available to the public, who can really benefit from proper advice on the right internet connection with the right routers and firewalls and the most efficient networks to deliver that across. We see so many poor quality networks with expensive hardware based routers and problematic client PC's that just aren't doing a good job and it makes us want to help! If your company suffers from inadequate bandwidth at peak times we can help by traffic shaping. Sometimes the bandwidth is being used by only a small percentage of your users but causing problems for many. Verri-Comm can build a traffic shaping router where all users will get a fair share. Bandwidth consuming applications can be given low priority so the important traffic will be fast for the users that need it. End users PC's could have virus or spy ware causing unwanted network load. Verri-Comm supports and out-engineers these kind of problems with the very latest Linux technology. Through the low cost of Linux software and our expertise we can offer an extremely low cost service and the features that are available are the very latest in the industry.
